Catholic Schools Week
This week is Catholic Schools Week, where we celebrate the value of Catholic Education. We are blessed to have St. Columbkille School and the best teachers and administrators in the world! Of course, we love all our kids, whether they go to Catholic school, public school, or home school.
Nebraska Walk for Life
As the Nebraska Walk for Life concludes, I thought it would be a good time to thank our many parishioners who participate in pro-life causes like our Respect Life group and the 40 Days for Life campaign. Sometimes people think that pro-lifers only care about babies, but that’s not true. We care about mothers, fathers, adults, children, all human beings! To be pro-life means to see the value and dignity in each individual, and to help others see that as well. When we treat each other with respect and charity, we bring ourselves and others one step closer to heaven.
Nebraska recently passed legislation that allows for a new pro-life license plate. The image of a mother and child walking into the beautiful Nebraska sunset is meant to communicate hope for the future and a promise that no one is alone. The plates cost less than a cheap bottle of wine – just $5.00 for a normal plate, or $40.00 for a personalized one. You can order them online at dmv.nebraska.gov/dvr/choose-life-plates, even before your registration needs to be renewed. Proceeds from these plates goes to the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Fund. Please join me in praying for an end to abortion.
